Hilary Duff: Joins 'Gossip Girl'

Hilary Duff has joined the cast of "Gossip Girl" for its upcoming third season.

The actress-singer-designer will play the role of Olivia Burke, a movie star who attends New York University in search of a traditional college experience.

American model and actress Jessica Szohr will play the role of Vanessa. Duff is the roommate of Szohr.

Hilary Duff will make her debut in the fourth episode of the season, scheduled to air on October 5.
