'Moon' wins top prize at Edinburgh
British film director Duncan Jones' "Moon" has won the top prize on Sunday at this year's Edinburgh International Film Festival.
The movie, starring Sam Rockwell as a helium miner working alone on the moon, secured the Michael Powell Award for best new British feature film and it purse of £20,000 ($32,700).
Duncan Jones is the son of popular music icon David Bowie. He flew from Moscow to collect his award with producer Stuart Fenegan.
Jones said, ""We were here in Edinburgh earlier in the festival for the premiere and had to come back pretty much at the drop of a hat when we heard we'd won. It's just phenomenal and we're absolutely gobsmacked".
English actress Katie Jarvis, who is best known for her role as Mia in the film "Fish Tank", won the PPG award for best performance in a British feature film.
