Cameron Diaz: Gets star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
US actress Cameron Diaz is the latest celebrity, who has been honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Diaz, who is especially known for her role in the 1998 feature "There's Something About Mary", celebrated her new-found status with former co-stars Lucy Liu, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes at the ceremony in front of the Egyptian Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard on Monday.
Cameron Diaz, who got her big break in the 1994 Jim Carrey film The Mask, attributed her success to her parents.
The 36 year old Diaz said, "It was what has given me the strength and courage to live this extraordinary life and it is what powers the light that burns inside of me, bright enough for me to be honored today with this star on the Walk of Fame".
In her speech, Diaz thanked her co-stars, directors and fans, saying, "I want to thank everyone who has supported me over the last 15 years".
Diaz has currently starred in the upcoming drama "My Sister's Keeper", which will be released on June 26, 2009.
