Mike Tyson: Daughter Exodus dies after treadmill accident
The 4 year old daughter of former heavyweight world champion Mike Tyson has died, a day after she was critically injured when her neck was caught in a cord on a treadmill machine at her home.
Phoenix police Sergeant Andy Hill said, "I was just advised by investigators that Exodus Tyson was pronounced deceased at 11:45 am today at the hospital. Our sympathies go out to the family".
Exodus Tyson, the daughter of Mike Tyson, had been in hospital on life support since Monday, when she was found with her neck wrapped in a cable of the exercise machine by her 7 year old brother.
The boy called his mother, who came up from another room, freed her little girl and then called 911 and tried to revive her.
The 42 year old Mike Tyson, who doesn't live at his Phoenix house where the accident occurred, arrived on Monday afternoon from Las Vegas and went to St. Joseph's Hospital in a taxi.
The family members of Tyson said in a statement, "We are grateful for the tremendous outpouring of love and prayers from all over the world. There are no words to describe the tragic loss of our beloved Exodus. We ask you now to please respect our need at this very difficult time for privacy to grieve and try to help each other heal".
Mike Tyson was in the news this month with the US release of the film "Tyson", a documentary directed by James Toback that premiered at the Cannes Film Festival last year.
