Amy Poehler: Returns to 'Weekend Update'
Amy Poehler, the former star of "Saturday Night Live", returned to co-anchore "Weekend Update" for the show's star-studded season finale.
After a season infused by politics and Tina Fey's impression of Sarah Palin, the Republican vice presidential candidate, "SNL" covered up its 34th season with cameos galore.
Along with another former star cast member, host Will Ferrell, making appearances were Tom Hanks, Anne Hathaway and Paul Rudd. Former castmembers Maya Rudolph and Norm MacDonald also stopped by.
Amy Poehler, the former "SNL" star, left the show earlier in the season to launch her NBC sitcom "Parks and Recreation". On July 21, 2008, NBC officially announced Poehler's new series, "Parks and Recreation".
On May 16, 2009, Amy made an appearance on SNL's "Weekend Update", temporarily reclaiming her co-anchor chair. At the end of the segment, she rejoined her co-host, Seth Meyers.
