DMX: Released from Phoenix jail
American rapper DMX has been released from a Phoenix jail after serving a 90-day sentence for felony convictions.
Glenn Allen, the rapper's lawyer said that his client is in good spirits and is still in Maricopa County. He said, "He's extremely happy that he's home. We look forward to being able to handle his case with him out of custody".
A spokeswoman for the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office says Simmons will likely return to court to face charges added while in jail.
DMX was arrested on charges of drug possession, theft and animal cruelty and was sentenced to 90 days in jail in December 2008, but his stay was extended after he allegedly thrown a dinner tray at a corrections officer and refused to attend work assignments in February 2009.
DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, left a Maricopa County jail on May 14, 2009 on a $10,000 bond.
While he was in prison, DMX revealed that he intends to start a TV show when he gets out.
Thr rapper said, "I'm gonna start a TV show called 'Pain and Perseverance', it's about how I can reach people that the average person can't reach because I'm grounded. I'm going to give my first sermon in the church. That's going to be incredible for me and hopefully the congregation of that church".
