Wanda Sykes: Wife welcomes twins
American Emmy Award winning stand-up comedian Wanda Sykes' wife Alex gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl.
Sykes' publicist, Danica Smith, said that the son Lucas Claude and daughter Olivia Lou were born on April 27.
The outspoken comedian Sykes said that her wife gave birth to the twins and "they all are happy and healthy and at home". The twins are the first children for the couple, who married last October.
Wanda Sykes got married to her female partner in October 2008 in California, whom she met in 2006. She publicly came out in November at a same-sex marriage rally regarding Proposition 8 in Las Vegas that she is a lesbian and had just married.
The 45 year old Sykes served as the tart-tongued entertainer at Saturday's annual White House Correspondents' Association dinner.She co-stars with Julia Louis-Dreyfus on CBS' "The New Adventures of Old Christine."
Wanda Sykes will host a programme, which is still untitled, as Saturday late-night show on Fox next fall.
