Chris Brown: Denies leaking Rihanna photos
Two days after nude photos of R&B singer Cassie leaked, risqué photos of a woman purported to be Rihanna hit the Internet on Friday afternoon. The pictures show the woman in various stages of undress inclusive of one image of a man resembling Rihanna's ex, Chris Brown.
After blogger Perez Hilton suggested that Brown "must be responsible" for leaking the pictures, a spokesperson for the singer denied the charge late Sunday.
"Rumors that images circulating on the web which purport to be provocative photos of Rihanna were 'leaked' by Chris Brown are both false and defamatory," states a spokesperson for Brown's label, Jive. The singer, who dated Rihanna for a year, has been charged with two felony counts in connection with an alleged altercation with Rihanna in February. "Chris has not released or 'leaked' any photos of Rihanna (or anyone else for that matter)," the statement continued.
Blogger, Hilton hasn't provided any details linking Brown to the images, which include two close-ups of a woman who resembles Rihanna with a similar hairstyle.
None of the nude photos feature the woman's face. The photos appear to be self-portrait nude photos of a woman shot in various hotel mirrors. Another picture features a man who resembles Brown, shirtless but not nude, with lacy underwear on his head. The image is a bit blurry, but the man appears to have tattoos on his arms that resemble Brown's; his spokespeople did not comment on that image.
In April, Chris pleaded not guilty to two felony charges of assault and making criminal threats stemming from his alleged altercation with Rihanna on the eve of this year's Grammy Awards.
A report published on Saturday claims that Island Def Jam had sent at least one Web site that had published the photos a cease-and-desist letter, which refers to "unauthorized photos purported to be ... Rihanna." The letter reportedly demanded that the photos be removed from the site, calling the posting of the images a violation of "the artist's rights," even though it did not confirm if the images were actually of Rihanna. Rihanna's label declined to comment on the same.
