Bebe Neuwirth: Weds in New York
American actress Bebe Newwirth, who is best known to television audiences for her portrayal of Dr. Lilith Sternin-Crane both on the popular TV sitcom "Cheers" and "Frasier", got married to Chris Calkins on May 4 in New York City. Mr Calkins is the founder of Napa Valley's Destino Vineyard.
Two-time Tony winner Bebe Neuwirth, 50, and Chris Calkins got married in the company of nearly 80 friends and family at the Players Club in Manhattan’s Gramercy Park. The couple are currently on their honeymoon.
Actor Peter Coyote, who is couple’s friend, presided over the Buddhist/Christian ceremony.
This is the second marriage for Neuwirth, whose marriage to Paul Dorman ended in divorce.
Bebe Neuwirth won Tonys for her performances in "Sweet Charity" in 1986 and "Chicago" in 1997. She also won Emmys for her role of Dr. Lilith Sternin-Crane on TV’s "Cheers" and "Frasier".
Neuwirth will return to the stage to perform in "The Addams Family" next year. She will play the role of Morticia Addams opposite Nathan Lane. The show is currently scheduled to debut next year with a 2010 Broadway opening.
Bebe Neuwirth has recently palyed the role of Lynn Kraft in upcoming movie "Fame", which is set to be released on September 25, 2009.
