MTV's 2009 Movie Award Nominations

MTV has announced the nominated films and performers for their annual movie awards, which will be held at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California on Sunday, May 31, 2009.

"Saturday Night Live" funnyman Andy Samberg will host the awards show.

MTV has introduced two new categories this year - Best Song From a Movie and best WTF Moment.

Late Heath Ledger and his movie "The Dark Knight" have got the nominations for MTV Movie Awards 2009 on May 31.

"The Dark Knight" has been nominated for Best Movie and Heath Ledger for Best Villain. The movie picked up four nominations.

Teenage vampire romance "Twilight" and feel good romance drama "Slumdog Millionaire" have also been nominated for the awards. "Twilight" picked up seven nominations and "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" finished with five.
