'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' captures US box office
The movie "X-Men Origins: Wolverine", starring Hugh Jackman, has captured the top position at the US Box Office, grossing $87 million to make it this year's biggest movie debut.
It seems that Hugh Jackman, who is currently People magazine's Sexiest Men Alive, managed to draw in more female moviegoers; 47% of the weekend's audience were women, which is a higher turnout than previous X-Men films.
Another new movie, "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past", a romantic comedy starring Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Garner and Michael Douglas, opened at No.2 with $15.3 million.
Last week's topper, "Obsessed", managed to hold third place with $12.2 million.
"17 Again" slipped down to No. 4 with $6.3 million and "Monsters Vs. Aliens" scored fifth, up one place, with $5.8 million.
