Jay Leno: Released from hospital
Jay Leno, the famous television star, was released from a hospital on Friday, one day after he checked in with an undisclosed illness thereby forcing the comedian to cancel a taping "The Tonight Show" for the first time in a span of seventeen years as host.
Dick Guttman, Jay Leno's spokesman, added that Mr. Leno remained in hospital on Thursday for observation. He did not disclose about the health problem in details. He only said that it was not symptomatic of any major health problem.
According to NBC channel it is expected that Leno is going to return to the show on Monday.
It was the first time that Leno, who turns fifty nine on Tuesday, missed a scheduled appearance on "The Tonight Show" since he started hosting the show in 1992, except for one episode several years ago in which he traded places with news and talk show anchor Katie Couric. NBC has revealed this information.
Conan O'Brien will take over as host of "The Tonight Show" on 1st June and Leno will have his own week-night program in prime-time this fall. |
