Marilyn Chambers, the legendary adult movie queen, was best known for her 1972 hardcore debut "Behind the Green Door".
During her early career, Marilyn Chambers' most visible modeling job was as the "cover girl" on the Ivory Snow soap box, posing as the mother holding the baby under the tag line "99 & 44/100% pure".
Chambers was one of the biggest names in the porn industry between 1970 and 1980.
In the adult movie "Behind the Green Door" (1972), Marilyn Chambers had played the role of Gloria Saunders. In the film, she had sex with African-American actor Johnny Keyes.
Chambers made more than 25 porn movies. She also made several films with late porn star John Holmes, who died in 1988.
Chambers had some chart success with the disco single "Benihana" in 1976, produced by Michael Zager on the Roulette Records label. She also ran for U.S. vice president in 2004 on the Personal Choice Party ticket.
Chambers had played a small role in the film "The Owl and the Pussycat" (1970), which starred Barbra Streisand and in which Chambers was credited as "Evelyn Lang". But after establishing herself as a pornographic film star, she was never able to break into mainstream films.
