David Caruso: Sued by ex-girlfriend
American actor and producer David Caruso has been sued by his ex-lover Liza Marquez.
Marquez is seeking more than $1.2 million and a house because she said that the "CSI: Miami" star promised her.
Liza Marquez filed a lawsuit against David Caruso in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday, claiming he promised to support her even after their nearly four-year relationship ended.
In her lawsuit, Marquez claimed that Caruso abused her verbally on several occasions and told her that he envisioned himself on a yacht in the French Riviera, not as a father.
Marquez stated in her lawsuit that she and David Caruso started dating in April 2004 while she was working as a travel coordinator. Later that year, they moved in together and Marquez quit her job at Caruso's request. The suit states Caruso told Marquez that he would "always be there" to support her financially and in other ways.
The lawsuit also states that Caruso was affectionate and caring in public, but withdrew from Marquez to a second home as the relationship deteriorated. David Caruso ended their relationship two days after Marquez gave birth to their second child in October 2007. The suit claims that the couple later reached an agreement that David Caruso would pay Marquez $1 million and $200,000 in attorney's fees, and give her a home in the San Fernando Valley.
Caruso's attorney, Stephen Kolodny, issued a statement on Thusday saying that the lawsuit was filed with "false claims".
