Madonna: Loses bid to adopt second Malawian child
Pop queen Madonna, who was trying to adopt second child from Malawi, has lost the bid to adopt.
On Friday, a Malawian court refused to grant Madonna's request for interim adoption of a young girl.
According to a source, her adoption application was rejected over residency rules.
Rights groups have accused Malawian authorities for giving special treatment to the singer. Malawi's government, which came under fire after Madonna adopted a 13-month-old Malawian child, said on Thursday it would support a second adoption. It's not clear whether Madonna will try to appeal against the ruling.
The US singer previously adopted Malawian orphan David Banda in 2006.
