 Natalie Cole: Fans offer kidneys to singer
Ten Grammy Awards winner Natalie Cole, who is suffering from kidney disease, is getting offers from fans to give her their kidneys. She is currently on dialysis three times a week while awaiting a kidney transplant.
Natalie Cole, told American chat show host Larry King on Tuesday that she was diagnosed with kidney failure, and while she was till on his CNN show, dozens of viewers wrote in offering to be tested as possible donors.
The 59 year old Cole, the daughter of legendary singer Nat King Cole and Maria Hawkins Ellington Cole, said that she was diagnosed with Hepatitis C in February 2008 and her kidneys failed after treatment. Since then, she has been seeking a donor.
Natalie Cole's latest album "Still Unforgettable" was released on September 9, 2008. At the 51st Grammy Awards in 2009, the album won the award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.
