Jennifer Hudson is returning to American Idol and too quietly. The one-time contestant, and now Grammy Award winner, Hudson will perform to the Idol stage, but not in the showstopping way like Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood did. Jennifer Hudson will return in a secret performance.

After the show on Wednesday night, Jennifer Hudson is going to make her appearance on stage in order to perform. The official confirmation about Hudson’s performance has yet to come from AI peeps yet. However the tickets for Wednesday night's show state that “the second taping of Wednesday is the LIVE performance show with special performances by Jennifer Hudson and Ruben Studdard.”

Jennifer Hudson is expected to perform on a song from her self-titled album. Although no word yet did come about the time of airing her performance at some point during this season. This will be the first appearance of Hudson on American Idol since the tragic murders of her mother, brother and nephew last October.
