Brett Ratner: Takes on publishing
American film director and producer Brett Ratner will now publish books.
Brett Ratner plans to print three books through his publishing company, Rat Press. He wants to release the shoft cover books on Marlon Brando, Robert Evans and Jim Brown.
The 39 year old Brett Ratner said, "These are books that I wanted to put out there in the consciousness of film culture and pop culture because they're books that shaped my film education. Hopefully it will inspire other generations of young people".
The first volumes are "Conversations with Marlon Brando" and "Conversations with Robert Evans," both by Lawrence Grobel, and "Jim: The Author's Self-Centered Memoir on the Great Jim Brown" by James Toback.
The cost of the books will be $20 to $25.
Brett Ratner said that he always wanted to be in the book business - "not for profit, it's really about a personal passion of mine".
Ratner is well known as the director of "Red Dragon", "X-Men: The Last Stand", "The Family Man", "After the Sunset" and the "Rush Hour series". He is also a producer on the Fox drama, "Prison Break".
Brett Ratner will direct "Beverly Hills Cop IV", which is due for a Summer 2009 release.
