Robin Williams: Recovers from heart surgery
Oscar winning actor Robin Williams is expected to make a complete recovery from his recent heart surgery in the next two months. He also is planning to resume his comedy tour afterward. On Monday his representative has made the confirmation of this news.
Sources have thrown more light on the news of Robin Williams. This fifty seven year old actor, who is one of leading comedians of Hollywood and highly acclaimed for his eccentric comedies, had undergone surgery on 13th March at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.
In a statement Dr. A. Marc Gillinov, a cardiothoracic surgeon at the clinic, added, "His heart is strong and he will have normal heart function in the coming weeks with no limitations on what he'll be able to do,".
The operation was done in order to replace aortic valve of Williams, thereby repairing his mitral valve and correcting an irregular heartbeat.
Earlier this month Williams postponed his "Weapons of Self-Destruction" comedy tour to undergo the procedure after feeling shortness of breath.
At that time he was in Florida and was first treated at the University of Miami Hospital.
Robin Williams has made the plan of resuming his comedy tour in the fall . However no specific date has been fixed yet.
"I got some great new material for the tour and can't wait to get back on the road," stated Williams.
He continued, "I'm thinking the next leg of the tour will be 'Weapons of Self-Destruction and Reconstruction!'"
The elder brother of the actor Robert Todd Williams passed away in the year 2007 of complications from heart surgery.
Robin Williams won an Oscar award for his supporting role as a psychologist in the year 1997 drama "Good Will Hunting." Currently, he starred in the film titled "License to Wed" in the year 2007 and the 2006 release "Man of the Year."
