Jade Goody: To be buried on April 4
The funeral of British reality television star Jade Goody, who lost her battle with cervical cancer at an early age of twenty seven, will take place on April 4. On Monday a family spokesperson has brought out the confirmation of this news.
Goody, who died on Sunday, will be buried after a service at a church near her residence in Essex, southeast England.
British Prime Minister Gordon Brown had sent his tribute to the former dental nurse who struck a chord with the British public after appearing on the "Big Brother" TV show in the year 2002.
Her mother, Jackiey Budden remarked that her daughter would have been "overwhelmed" by the reaction of public after hundreds of well-wishers continued to lay flowers outside Goody's home on Monday.
"Her response to all this would be the same as mine -- overwhelmed," "It just shows how many people really did love her," continued Budden.
Goody's widower twenty one year Jack Tweed, whom she married just days before her death, could be forced to miss the funeral since he is due to be sentenced on Thursday after being convicted of assaulting a taxi driver.
Earlier this month the magistrates warned that Tweed, who had denied the offence, could be imprisoned.
The court added that the case remained listed for that date though the legal team of Tweed could ask for a delay.
The career of Jade Goody came close to ruin when she subjected Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty to racist bullying on a celebrity edition of "Big Brother" in the year 2007, by calling her "Shilpa Poppadom."
However the two later reconsiled and Shetty said on Sunday she was "deeply saddened" by the death of Jade Goody but "glad she is out of pain".
