Jade Goody: Passes away
Jade Goody, who was diagnosed cervical cancer in 2008, passed away in the early hours of 22 March 2009. She was 27.
The mother of two, who married her boyfriend in a televised ceremony only last month, died in her sleep at her home in Essex, southeast England. Her husband Jack Tweed and mother Jackiey Budden were by her side.
She is to be buried near her home in Epping Forest.
Prime Minister Gordon Brown led the tributes to Goody.
In a statement, Mr. Brown said, "I was deeply saddened to hear the news of Jade Goody's death. She was a courageous woman both in life and death and the whole country have admired her determination to provide a bright future for her children".
Goody's mother said, "My beautiful daughter is at peace".
Jade Goody shot to fame while appearing on the third series of the Channel 4 reality TV show Big Brother in 2002. In January 2007, she was a housemate in Celebrity Big Brother.
Then in August 2008, she appeared on the Indian reality TV show Bigg Boss. But unfortunately, she withdrew herself from the show after being diagnosed cervical cancer and went back to UK.
Jade Goody, whose brith name was Jade Cerisa Lorraine Goody, born on June 5, 1981 at Bermondsey, London, England. Her mother Jackiey Budden raised her as a single parent after her father left them when she was just two years old.
