American Idol: Contestants headed to Motown
One of the most popular TV shows "American Idol" contestants will be heading to Hitsville USA's famed Studio A in Detroit to be mentored by a pair of Motown legends.

singer Smokey Robinson and founder Berry Gordy Jr. will film segments Thursday with "Idol" contestants who will be working on Motown classics.
Nancy Neiman, Gordy representative, tells The Detroit News the two men will be on "a tight schedule" and will leave immediately afterward.
The security will be tight, and the set will be closed.
Nancy Neiman tells the News the clips will air during next week's "Idol" performance episode.
This trip will mark "Idol's" first visit to Detroit since the popular Fox network singing contest auditioned for contestants during its second season.
Presently, Motown is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
