 Yao Ming: tops Forbes China celebrity list
Basketballer Yao Ming has topped the annual Forbes magazine list of China's most successful celebrities. Thus he has grabbed the topmost position in the list for the sixth consecutive year based on his Olympic performance and lucrative endorsement deals with Visa and McDonald's. On Late Wednesday Forbes has made the announcement.
Apart from leading China's national basketball side to a top 8th finish at 2008’s Beijing Olympics, Yao was the country's flag bearer at the Beijing Olympic Games.
The annual China celebrity list, which started in the eyar 2003, takes into consideration earnings and media appeal through an "exposure index" in order to decide the most successful stars of the nation.
