Stacy Keach: Suffered from mild stroke
Veteran actor Stacy Keach, who acts in the touring stage production of "Frost/Nixon," suffered a mild stroke before being admitted to hospital in Los Angeles this week. On Wednesday his spokesman Dick Guttman has brought out the confirmation of the news.
Sources have thrown more light on the news of Stacy Keach. This sixty seven year old actor, who had portrayed the character of late U.S. President Richard Nixon in the play, was admitted to an undisclosed hospital on Tuesday.
"Actor Stacy Keach has been diagnosed as having experienced a very mild stroke with no impairment whatsoever of his motor or speech abilities," added his spokesman in a statement.
Guttman added, "The producers of 'Frost/Nixon' look forward to his speedy recovery and to his return to the show as soon as he is able."
However he declined to say anything in details..
Keach is highly acclaimed for playing the role of detective Mike Hammer on the 1980s television series of the same name. From 2005 to 2007, he acted in famous television drama "Prison Break."
His film roles include a boxer in the 1972 movie "Fat City," a white supremacist in "American History X" that was released in the year 1998 and also a preacher in "W." The last one is movie about former President George W. Bush and it hit the theatres last year.
"Frost/Nixon" was playing in Los Angeles when Keach suffered his stroke and was scheduled to run till 29th March. Understudy Bob Ari has taken Keach's place.
