Anna Nicole Smith: Psychiatrist posts bail of $20K
Drama has unfolded in recent case on Anna Nicole Smith. On Monday psychiatrist Khristine Eroshevich surrendered in order to face charges of excessive prescription of drugs to Anna Nicole Smith before the former model's overdose death at an age of thirty nine.
According to the police spokesperson Rosario Herrera Eroshevich came at the Van Nuys police station.
Later she got released after posting $20,000 bail. This is as per a statement from the office of her attorney Adam Braun.
After a long investigation by the attorney general and other state and federal agencies, Los Angeles County prosecutors charged Eroshevich sometime during last week for conspiring with another doctor, Sandeep Kapoor, and Smith's lawyer-turned-boyfriend Howard K. Stern for providing Smith with thousands of prescription pills.
On Friday Attorney General Jerry Brown added that in spite of knowing that Anna was an addict the doctors wrote prescriptions for her in fictitious names and prescribed unwarranted amounts of highly addictive medications.
Brown described Stern as the "principal enabler" in the suspected conspiracy.
During last week Stern and Kapoor turned themselves in and were each freed on 20,000 dollars bond.
Braun added that Eroshevich was only protecting privacy of Smith by writing prescriptions in false names and did not intend to commit fraud.
The psychiatrist, who treated Smith since the year 2006, traveled quite a number of times more than 6 months to the Bahamas, where the ex Playboy playmate was living with Stern and wrote the prescriptions. |
