 Singer and actress Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is reportedly set to play one of the lead roles in the new version of the 1990s TV hit "Melrose Place".
In the upcoming "Melrose Place", the Ashlee will play a bright-eyed but shrewd small-town girl who arrives in Los Angeles with a big secret.
Ashlee Simpson joined the previously cast Michael Rady and Katie Cassidy in the new series.
Simpson’s first big TV role was on the WB’s 7th Heaven in 2002. She took a four-year hiatus from acting to focus on her music career.
Ashlee Simpson and her rocker husband Pete Wentz will also guest-star on the March 18 episode of "CSI: NY" as a Bonnie-and-Clyde-like couple who get caught up in a drug deal gone bad.
