Amy Winehouse: Misses US gig after assault case
Troubled singer Amy Winehouse, who was charged with assault last week, has been denied a US work visa.
The singer can't travel to the United States in time to perform at a leading music festival.
The 25 year old Amy Winehouse was due to perform at the annual Coachella festival in California, where Paul McCartney and The Killers will also perform.
According to the festival website, she was suppose to sing on April 18.
Amy Winehouse, who won five Grammy awards in 2008 and whose second album "Back to Black" won widespread critical acclaim, was also charged with common assault following an incident at a ball in London's Berkeley Square last year.
The hearing on the assault case is due to take place at Westminster Magistrates' Court on March 17.
The concert would have been Winehouse's biggest in the US and one of her most high-profile shows to date.
