Jim Carrey and Jake Gyllenhaal: Starring together in the adaptation of 'Damn Yankees'
This time, broadway is coming to Hollywood again with Jim Carrey and Jake Gyllenhaal. They are attached to star in a movie adaptation of the classic musical, "Damn Yankees," according to Variety.
This movie is said to be a modern take on the 1955 Broadway musical about a man whose love of baseball causes him to make a deal with the devil.
Carrey is said to be playing the devil, while Jake will play the young baseball-loving Joe Boyd.
Behind the upcoming "Hairspray" sequel, the producing team will bring the Broadway adaptation to the big screen.
When it first debuted on The Great White Way in 1955, the musical won seven Tony awards.
Movie "Damn Yankees" marks the first musical for both Jim and Jake.
