Ed McMahon: Admitted to hospital in Los Angeles
Ed McMahon, a famous television personality, was hospitalized in intensive care. On Friday a spokesperson Howard Bragman has revealed the news.
It is further reported that eighty five year old McMahon has been suffering from pneumonia and other ailments and was also hospitalized for several weeks. However he has declined to say anything in details.
"It's serious," added Bragman when being asked about McMahon's condition, noting his age. However Bragman added, "We're hopeful."
The wife and family members are with with him and appreciate the public expressions of concern.
McMahon had broken his neck in a fall in the year 2007. Last year also he faced foreclosure on his home since it was added that the injury had left him unable to work. However a deal was made last December that would give him permission to stay in the house.
McMahon was Carson's announcer and second banana on "Tonight" from 1962 till the retirement of Carson in the year1992.
McMahon also made appearance in the commercials for American Family Publishers' sweepstakes and accepted supporting roles in movies like "Fun with Dick and Jane" (1977) and "Just Write" (1997) and in TV shows including WB sitcom "The Tom Show" (1997) along with Tom Arnold.
