 Brittany Snow: To star in 'Gossip Girl' spinoff
Actress Brittany Snow is in final negotiations to enter as a cast in the project, a prequel that maintains a chronicle of the wild teen years of Lily van der Woodsen (Kelly Rutherford) in Los Angeles during the 1980s.
Also Shilo Fernandez ("Jericho") is taken as a cast in the spinoff. The two would be joining previously cast Krysten Ritter.
The spinoff centers on then-Lily Rhodes (Snow), who, after a falling-out with her parents, is forced to move in with her sister, Carol (Ritter), the black sheep of the family.
Overnight, Lily has to transit from a life of luxury and education at an affluent Montecito boarding school to reside in the San Fernando Valley that she once made fun of and also went to public school. Caught in between 2 worlds, Lily dives into the fast-paced Sunset Strip and the Hollywood lifestyle of the '80s, thereby undertaking journey over the hill to a world of wealth and excess that used to be her own.
Fernandez will portray the character of Owen, a hot Valley punk guy with a caustic wit.
The pilot for the spinoff will be aired on 11th May as a "Gossip" episode.
