Condoleezza Rice: Signs a book deal
Former States Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, has signed a three-book deal with Crown Publishers. The book will be a memoir about her eight years under former U.S. President George W. Bush, first as national security adviser and then as secretary of state.
The first book is tentatively scheduled for release in 2011.
The other two books will be more personal.
The socond book will be about her childhood in Birmingham, Alabama, where she was born in 1954. Condoleezza Rice grew up amid segregation and during the civil rights movement in the United States.
Random House Children's Books will also publish a young-adult version of the family memoir at the same time. Crown Publishers is a division of Random House.
