Tour de France legend Lance Armstrong is calling on hordes of Twitter users to track down a special bicycle that was stolen from a northern California racing venue.
Sources have more light on the news of Lance Armstrong. According to them he has sent request to over 128,000 Twitter members who have signed up to receive the brief text messages that he routinely fires off on the famous blogging service.
"Whoa! They just came to my room and said our truck was broken into and someone stole my time trial bike!" "APB out to the twitterati." This is a Twitter message that Amstrong has written and also sent before sunrise on Sunday.
The seven-time Tour de France champion used the bicycle almost one day before a rain-pelted, wind-pounded opening of the Amgen Tour of California. The 750-mile race continues throughout the week.
The bicycle of Lance Armstrong was one of four stolen items from an Astana team truck that was parked behind a hotel in the California capital city of Sacramento.
The other bicycles reportedly belonged to other team members namely Steve Morabito, Janez Brajkovic and Yaroslav Popovych.
Later Armstrong posted a picture of his stolen bicycle in a Twitter "twitpic" along with the message that says, “There is only one like it in the world therefore hard to pawn it off. Reward being offered."
To this replies range from supportive and empathetic to biting and cynical streamed back to Armstrong.
Cancer-survivor thirty seven year old Lance Armstrong sought retirement in the year 2005. Later he makes a comeback. Armstrong intends to compete in this year's Tour de France. |
