Scarlett Johansson is reportedly in talks te get the role of Black Widow in "Iron Man 2". If she gets the role, she will replace Emily Blunt, who was set to star as the Black Widow.
Emily Blunt may have to step down due to scheduling conflicts.
According to a source, Scarlett Johansson has met the director Jon Favreau and producers. She is interested to take the role of Russian super spy Natasha Romanoff, who doubles as Black Widow.
Emily Blunt is trying to avoid the scheduling conflict and secure the role but Marvel and the film's director John Favreau are already courting other stars, including Scarlett.
Eliza Dushku, the star of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" has also expressed her interest in the role. She said, "I'm so perfect for the Black Widow character. Marvel needs to get into it. They need to understand I just learned Russian because I had to play a Russian girl in 'Dollhouse'".
Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow will both reprise their roles in the sequel.
Scarlett Johansson can currently be seen on Irish cinema screens in Woody Allen's "Vicky Cristina Barcelona".
