Sam Shepard, the famous actor and playwright, has pleaded guilty of charge of speeding and drunken driving in central Illinois.
Details about the news on Sam Shepard have been inferred from quite a number of sources. According to them, he has sought apology to Casey Costigan, McLean County Associate Judge, on Wednesday's hearing. He also said that he did not intend to drive under the influence again.
He was given the order of paying fine of 600 dollars and court costs and has been placed on supervision for twenty four months. He also has to finish an alcohol treatment program and perform one hundred hours of community service.
Sam, who has grabbed the 1979 Pulitzer Prize for drama titled "Buried Child," was detained on 3rd January after the officers stopped him for driving 16 mph over the speed limit. The policemen added that a breath test gave the indication that blood-alcohol level of Shepard was double the legal limit.
Sixty five year old Shepard said that he often stops in the area while traveling from his Kentucky home to visit relatives in Minnesota. |
