 Model Bar Refaeli has landed on the cover of Sports Illustrated of the year 2009 Swimsuit Issue. This bit of information has been inferred as per billboard overlooking Broadway in the theater district of New York City.
On Feb. 9, 2009, the cover was revealed during a taping of "Late Show with David Letterman," which is based in the Ed Sullivan Theatre across the street from the billboard.
Bar Refaeli, who is a girlfriend of famous actor Leonardo DiCaprio, had been rumored to be the top pick of the publisherfor the iconic issue.
The 23-year-old Israeli model has been the subject of increasing buzz since becoming the new face of Marks and Spencer's Valentine's Day lingerie range.
According to speculations on online celebrity blogs, Bar Refaeli also is being courted by MTV to revive the 1990s "House of Style" show who is pioneered by Cindy Crawford.
Both DiCaprio and Refaeli paid a visit to Israel in March 2007, at the time trying to get into the country unnoticed on a night flight from Frankfurt, Germany. However the plane was also carrying few entertainment reporters from Israil By the time DiCaprio and Refaeli went to her family's home in Tel Aviv suburb, they were besieged by dozens of photographers.
While in Israel the couple went to Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial and later visited the Western Wall and its subterranean tunnels in the Old City.
