Complete list of 2009 Grammy Award winners

The 51st Grammy Awards ceremony has been held on February 8, 2009 in Los Angeles.

It was Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, who were the big winners at the 51st annual Grammys. They won five awards including album of the year for "Raising Sand" and record of the year for "Please Read the Letter".

After winning the awards, Alison Krauss said, "We are thrilled and very grateful to everybody who is excited for us".

Robert Plant said, "I'm bewildered. In the old days, we would have called this selling-out -- but it's a good way to spend a Sunday".

Jennifer Hudson took home the first Grammy award of the night in the best R&B album category. Hudson tearfully accepted her Grammy. She thanked her family "in heaven". Hudson's mother, brother and nephew were killed in Chicago shortly after her debut album was released.

Coldplay and Lil Wayne each take home three Grammys apiece. Coldplay's honors include song of the year for "Viva La Vida".
