Christian Bale has sought apology for initiating a 4-minute verbal attack in which he drops the F-filled word for thirty six times at a crew member on the set of the film Terminator Salvation.
"I have no confusion whatsoever -- I was out of order, beyond belief. " "I acted like a punk. I regret that," he said. "There is nobody who has heard that tape that has been hit harder by it than me. It is inexcusable." Thirty five year old Christian Bale has commented so on Friday on "The Kevin & Bean Show".
The audio -- which has since become the latest Internet viral trend, thanks to countless mash-ups and remixes -- was released earlier this week. It features Bale going off on cinematographer Shane Hurlbut last July for apparently walking behind costar Bryce Dallas Howard and through Bale's line of sight.
Bale screams, "Do you want me to go and trash your lights? Do you want me to go and trash them?" "Then why are you trashing my scene?"
He also gives threat to beat up Hurlbut and quit the movie if Hurlbut is not fired.
Bale said it "disturbs" him that people now think that he feels he is "better than everybody else."
Bale considers himself "lucky" to be able to work in the business and "that is why I put so much into what I do. Sometimes that enthusiasm goes awry.
He added, "If anybody ever sees that I really am thinking I am better than anybody else, stick a fork in my backside, turn me over, and I will be done." "That is not me."
On the day of his tirade, Bale said "I got annoyed...and I made it ugly. I took it way too far, and I completely mixed up fact and fiction."
Before getting off the phone, he made an appeal to all his fans not to let his expletive-filled outburst affect their decision to see the film that will be released on 22nd May.
He continued, "Please, I am asking people, do not allow my onetime lapse in judgment, my incredibly embarrassing meltdown, to overshadow this movie.” "I am embarrassed by it, and I regret it," he said. "I ask everybody to sit down and ask themselves, 'Have they ever had a bad day and ever lost their temper and really regretted it immensely?'"
When being asked about the innumerable remixes of his tirade, Bale said, "Feel free to make fun of me at my expense. I deserve it completely." |
