 Jennifer Hudson: Will perform Emotional Ballad at Grammy Awards
Oscar-winning singer Jennifer Hudson will perform "You Pulled Me Through" at Sunday's Grammy Awards.
Ken Ehrlich, the Executive Producer of the Grammys, revealed the news during rehearsals on Thursday.
The big ballad, written by Diane Warren, comes from Jennifer's 2008 self-titled debut album, which is nominated for four Grammy Awards at this year's ceremony.
This song is one of the most emotional numbers on Jennifer's album, featuring lyrics including "I was in the darkness/I was out in the cold/Seemed nothing could heal this/This hole in my soul/You reached out your arms to me... pulled me back from the edge."
Hudson will have a host of stars watching her when she hits the stage at the event. Kate Beckinsale , a reunited Blink-182, Diddy, John Legend , Leona Lewis , will.i.am and Jason Mraz have all been confirmed to attend the ceremony as presenters, according to The Recording Academy.
Before she hits the Grammy stage, however, Jennifer will start off the weekend with a performance at Grammy's MusiCares Person of the Year charity event on Friday, honoring Neil Diamond . She will also take to the stage at the Pre-Grammy Gala, presented by Clive Davis and the Recording Academy, on Saturday. The event will honor Clive.
Jennifer Hudson last performed on Sunday at the Super Bowl in Tampa, Fla., where she sang "The Star Spangled Banner." The event marked the first time Jennifer hit the stage in public since the tragic murder of her mother, Darnell Donerson, her brother, Jason Hudson, and nephew, Julian King, last fall.
Jennifer's estranged brother-in-law, William Balfour, has been charged over the killings.
