Jade Goody, the reality television personality who has ignited a racism row with Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty has suffered a new health blow since her cancer has spread to other parts of her body. On Wednesday a report was published in this issue.
Details about Jade Goody’s heath have been inferred from quite a number of sources. According to them, Jade underwent cancer surgery last September after having to withdraw from an Indian television program which witnessed the re-union of her with Shetty after their clash on the British program titled "Celebrity Big Brother."
However the doctors have told the chemotherapy has failed to stop cancer spreading from Jade’s cervix to her bowel, liver and groin. The Sun newspaper has published the news.
She gave an interview in the daily, which showed a picture of Goody, hairless from months of chemotherapy. Jade said, "I'm in a nightmare," "I am devastated. I am frightened and I am angry. I don?t want to die because I have so much to live for.
She continued, "The reality is I have gone from a 40 percent chance of a cure to seeing how long I can stay alive," "The whole thing is absolutely terrifying."
Goody, a mother of two, had to leave India’s "Bigg Boss" show sometime during last August after being diagnosed with cancer.
Jade’s appearance on the Indian show came eighteen months after she got involved in the racism row, which escalated almost to a diplomatic incident and saw her vilified on the streets in India.
The broadcaster behind "Bigg Boss" said at the time that she had been "looking forward to reaching out to millions of Indians, to try and dispel various perceptions that exist in people's minds about her." |
