Brokeback Mountain star Jake Gyllenhaal is just like Us!
The star spent the day doing his civic duty as a prospective juror in a misdemeanor battery case in an L.A. courthouse.
Jake Gyllenhaal was spotted sitting in a corner of the jury assembly room Tuesday morning. The actor was excused for the day -- but he has not yet been excused from the case.
While in the courtroom, Gyllenhaal was allowed to go through the juror questioning process known as voire dire in a private room.
Jake Gyllenhaal, who was wearing a baseball cap and jacket, was told to take off his hat inside the courtroom.
Jake must return to the courthouse Wednesday to find out if he was selected for the case.
