Good news waited for the fans of Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe. The stamps honoring these two celebrities have been unveiled in the stars' homeland.
Details about this news on Nicole Kidman have been inferred from quite a number of sources. As has been previously reported on a popular website on movies, Nicole, Russell, Cate Blanchett and Geoffrey Rush are being honored with stamps in Australia, thereby celebrating the work of the Oscar winners.
“Cate Blanchett , Russell Crowe , Nicole Kidman ... and Geoffrey Rush are already household names. The stamps will be a constant reminder of the indelible mark they have made on Australia's identity and culture." This comment is made by Graeme John, Australia Post Managing Director.
The stamps feature each of the four stars in a portrait, and one features a scene from one of their most outstanding movie roles. Each stamp is worth 55 Australian cents, which works out to be thirty cents in United States.
Briefing the reporters of a popular newspaper Nicole Kidman added, "I have a vested interest in Australia," "I want my children to live here at certain times of their life and see how wonderful it is. It would be lovely for them to lick a stamp, put it on an envelope and say 'that's my mum'."
The special postage stamps are being issued as part of Australia Day that is celebrated on 26th January. |
