Johnny Knoxville: Detained with grenade at airport
American comic actor Johnny Knoxville was detained by authorities on Thursday for bringing an inert grenade into Los Angeles International Airport.
While checking, the security screeners spotted the suspicious looking, grenade shaped device in one of Knoxville's bags and called in bomb disposal experts who determined that it contained neither explosives nor a firing pin.
The 37 year old Johnny Knoxville told to airport authorities that the grenade was a film prop which he forgot to take out of his bag.
He was later released and permitted to board a flight to Miami. But the comic actor could still face a criminal complaint if prosecutors decide to press charges.
Johnny Knoxville, whose real name is Philip John Clapp, has performed in a number of films, but he is best known as the co-creator and principal star of the MTV series "Jackass" and its subsequent films. |
