Jill Scott: Conceives for first time
American soul and R&B singer-songwriter, poet and actress Jill Scott is pregnant with her first child. She revealed the good news to reporters at the Television Critics Association conference in Los Angeles on Friday.
While promoting her new HBO series "The No 1 Ladies' Detective Agency", which is based on the popular novels by Alexander McCall Smith, Jill Scott said that she discovered that she was pregnant just before leaving for Botswana where she filmed the show.
Jill Scott, who is due to give birth to the baby on April 25, said, "The first trimester I spent in Botswana. That was one of the biggest challenges of my life. First trimester! You're sick every morning. It was seven hours time difference, the heat, the bugs, the 14 hour days".
The infant will be the first child for her and drummer fiance Lil' John Roberts.
Jill Scott also said, "My doctors gave me a clean bill of health and said you can do this, so I did it".
The 36 year old Jill Scott, who is a three-time Grammy Award winner and star of the 2007 Tyler Perry film "Why Did I Get Married?", said that she is glad and so, she went through with the plans to film. |
