Patrick Swayze got admitted into the hospital for observation after contracting pneumonia. On Friday A&E President Abbe Raven has made the announcement during a meeting of the Television Critics Association.
Sources have thrown more light on the news of Patrick Swayze was scheduled to make appearance for discussing his forthcoming drama titled "The Beast."
Robert DeBitetto, A&E's programming senior vice president also gave explanation for absence.
"Patrick has asked that I tell you that this morning he checked himself into the hospital for observation," "Chemotherapy can take its toll on the immune system, and illnesses are a part of that. Patrick wishes me to tell you that he's very sorry he cannot attend, but plans to get back to promoting `The Beast' soon." Robert has made this comment.
Patrick Swayze's spokesperson namely Annett Wolf has given the confirmation that Swayze was in the hospital. However he has declined to say anything in details.
"In light of the news today, it's a bump in the road." "We wish him all the best." Vincent Angell, one of the show's co-executive producers, has said so.
In the series, which was premiered on 15th January, Patrick Swayze has portrayed the character of an FBI veteran who trains a rookie partner. The role of rookie was played by Travis Fimmel. The producers also added that they found out that Swayze had cancer four hours after learning A&E had picked up the series. They also said filming was completed on all episodes of the first season and also was hopeful that Swayze could continue in the role for a second season.
Regarding Patrick, Fimmel said, "He's an inspiration". "He makes the little things seem so not important."
Earlier this week, Swayze told ABC's Barbara Walters that his yearlong battle with pancreatic cancer put him "through hell". However he continued with his new television series.
Fifty six year old Patrick became frightful and commented, "Yeah, I'm scared. Yeah, I'm angry. Yeah, I'm (asking), 'Why me?'" |
