John Travolta: Sixteen year old son died
The teenage son of John Travolta namely Jett, died in the Bahamas after apparently suffering a seizure and getting hit on his head at vacation home of his family. On Friday the authorities have brought out the confirmation of the news.
Sources have thrown more light on the news of John Travolta. According to them, a house caretaker has found sixteen Jett who was found unconscious in a bathroom sometime late on Friday morning. He was taken by ambulance to a Freeport hospital, where he was declared to be dead. Police Superintendent Basil Rahming added this in a statement.
As per the statement on Thursday the teenager had been seen entering the bathroom and had a history of seizures. An autopsy is also scheduled to take place.
Jett apparently hit his head on the bathtub. This bit of information has been revealed it to a police officer who also declined to be named since she was not authorized to speak on the matter.
Family attorney Michael Ossi also was available for comments. He said that Jett died suddenly on Friday. Publicists Paul Bloch and Samantha Mast also released the statement. However they were not available for detailed comment.
Jett was the oldest child of fifty four year old John Travolta and his wife, actress Kelly Preston who also have an eight year old daughter namely Ella Bleu.
Preston and John Travolta also commented that Jett became very sick when he was two years old and was diagnosed with Kawasaki disease. This is an illness that leads to inflammation of the blood vessels in young children.
John Travolta’s wife put the blame on the household cleaners and fertilizers. She also went to the extent of saying that a detoxification program based on teachings from the Church of Scientology has helped in the improvement of his health. Both John Travolta and Preston are practicing Scientologists.
"I was obsessive about his space being cleaned. We constantly had the carpets cleaned." John Travolta said it during a 2001 interview with CNN's Larry King. In fact a portion of this interview was rebroadcast on the "Larry King Live" show on Friday night.
It is still not clear whether John Travolta’s son was taking any medications for his seizures.
The Scientology Celebrity Center in Los Angeles has yet to make any comment.
A spokesperson for Rand Memorial Hospital in Freeport added that she could not release any information due to privacy concerns.
On Tuesday the family of John Travolta arrived in the Bahamas on a private plane Tuesday and was vacationing at their home in the Old Bahama Bay resort community.
"The Travolta family has become like family to us at Old Bahama Bay and we extend our deepest sympathies to them," added Robert Gidel, president of Ginn Resorts, the property's owner.
Travolta's corporate and commercial attorney, Michael McDermott also admmited about the strong bond of John Travolta with his son.
During a telephonic interview with the reporters of a popular news agency of United States John added, "There was unspoken communication between the two. ... It's just so hard," "Kelly is very quiet and both are grieving."
According to McDermott John Travolta’s family and some of their friends are with the couple in the Bahamas. The group came for a two-day New Year's celebration and had planned to return to Florida on Sunday.
He continued, "We're are all here and trying to help in any way we can." "Their pain is so evident."
Obie Wilchcombe, a parliament member and former tourism minister in the Bahamas, commented that John Travolta "spent a tremendous amount of time with Jett."
Wilchcombe added that an autopsy is planned for Monday, and "we expect a quick resolution."
"John spoke with the minister of health and the doctors and police are at the hospital. They're very, very quick to resolve things," added the same person.
John Travolta, who became famous as Vinnie Barbarino during 1970s television show "Welcome Back, Kotter" and the 1977 film "Saturday Night Fever," went on to become one of popular names in Hollywood. He tied her knots with Preston in the year 1991. |
