Isabelle Huppert: To head jury at Cannes film festival
Isabelle Huppert, the French actress, is going to head the jury at the 62nd edition of the Cannes film festival that is scheduled to be held in the month of May.
Sources have thrown more light on the news of Isabelle Huppert. According to them this fifty five year old actress who has starred in over ninety films, has twice won the best actress award at the prestigious film festival on the French Riviera.
"I am very glad and very proud," "I've had a long relationship with Cannes and this next meeting will definitely seal my love for the festival and thus for global cinema." Isabelle Huppert has made this statement after the organizers made the announcement of her selection on Friday.
Isabelle Huppert has sat on the jury at Cannes film festival and presented the award ceremony. He also represented in over a dozen films in competition. In addition she won best actress in the year 2001 for the film titled "The Piano Teacher" and in the year 1978 for the film "Violette," that is directed by French director Claude Chabrol.
Isabelle Huppert and Chabrol have worked together on a regular basis. Special mentioning may be made of the 1991 film "Madame Bovary." She also worked with foreign filmmakers like Joseph Losey, Michael Cimino, Hal Hartley, Curtis Hanson, and David O. Russell.
