Tom Cruise: Touched by Hitler movie
Famous actor Tom Cruise was "deeply moved" by playing the would-be assassin of Adolf Hitler in the movie titled "Valkyrie." He has made this comment during an interview with a famous magazine of Germany. It was released on Tuesday.
Sources have thrown more light on the news of Tom Cruise. Briefing the reporters of this magazine Tom said, "All I can say is that I was deeply moved by the experience."
In the film, which was premiered in the United States on December 25 and scheduled to be released in Europe next month, Cruise plays Claus Schenk von Stauffenberg, a Prussian aristocrat who has played a principal role in a July 20, 1944 plot for killing Hitler.
The filming of the movie caused unease in Germany because of fears of how Hollywood would treat the episode and because of membership of Tom Cruise to the Church of Scientology.
The concerned authorities initially have denied the makers of "Valkyrie" permission to display the film at the Bendlerblock. It is a complex of buildings in Berlin where Operation Valkyrie was planned and where von Stauffenberg and other conspirators were executed. |
