Harrison Ford: Wakes up early for talk-show comedy
Veteran actor Harrison Ford as Regis Philbin? Well, not quite.
However, the action star has been cast as one of the personalities of "Morning Glory," a comedy feature that takes place in and around a morning talk show. Rachel McAdams is in final negotiations to join the cast.
"Notting Hill"-star Roger Michell is attached to direct the Paramount project.
Harrison Ford plays a grizzled old-school anchor in the Ted Koppel mold who quits in disgust over the gossip-heavy direction of the evening newscast. Harrison Ford is then recruited by a hot up-and-coming producer (McAdams) to help revive a morning talk show, only to be paired with his rival.
66-year-old actor hasn't been showcased in a comedic role since the 1995 misfire "Sabrina." He will next be seen in Wayne Kramer's immigration drama, "Crossing Over." McAdams ("Wedding Crashers") will next be seen in "State of Play" and "The Time Traveler's Wife."
