 "Frost/Nixon" and "Doubt" Lead Golden Globe Nominees
The movies like "Frost/Nixon", "Doubt" and "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" led the Golden Globe movie nominations with five each on Thursday.
The other best-drama nominees are "Revolutionary Road", "The Reader" and "Slumdog Millionaire".
Kate Winslet has got two nominations, for best dramatic actress for "Revolutionary Road" and best supporting actress for "The Reader".
Meryl Streep has got two nominations, for best dramatic actress for "Doubt" and best comedy actress for "Mamma Mia!".
Angelina Jolie, Anne Hathaway and Kristin Scott Thomas are also nominated for best dramatic actress for "Changeling", "Rachel Getting Married" and "I've Loved You So Long" respectively.
Brad Pitt, Sean Penn, Leonardo DiCaprio, Frank Langella and Mickey Rourke are the nominees for best dramatic actor for "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button", "Milk", "Revolutionary Road", "Frost/Nixon" and "The Wrestler" respectively.
Unfortunately the year's biggest hit, "The Dark Knight", has got one nomination, best supporting actor for late Heath Ledger as the Joker.
HBO psychotherapy series "In Treatment" and the TV movie dramatization of the 2000 election aftermath "Recount" each earned five Golden Globe nominations on Thursday in the television categories.
NBC's "30 Rock" earned a nomination for best comedy and Tina Fey received a best-actress nod.
Fox's "House" was the only broadcast nominee for best TV drama.
Hollywood Foreign Press Association will award the winners on January 11, 2009 at Beverly Hills. Previously, NBC originally had exclusive broadcast rights to the ceremonies, but this time, HFPA President Jorge Camara announced there would be no restrictions placed on media outlets covering the January 13 press conference, announcing the winners at 6:00pm PST.  |
