 Guillermo del Toro: Unwilling to make film in Mexico
Guillermo del Toro who has directed ‘Hellboy’ movies, has opened his heart infront of the media. He has shown his unwillingness to make another film in Mexico since his father's kidnapping almost ten years ago has left him fearing for his safety. On Thursday a newspaper has brought out this report.
Sources have thrown more light on the news of Guillermo del Toro. Del Toro's father was eventually released. However the family members said that he later received death threats.
Guillermo del Toro commented that he does not feel safe directing films in Mexico since he feared that his daily routine is going to be public.
"Not all of the people who participated in the kidnapping were captured," El Universal newspaper quoted him as saying.
Describing his situation as a "forced exile" he confessed that he feels sad to think that he would not shoot film again on the streets of Mexico.
Guillermo del Toro said on the red carpet of a special Mexico City showing of the film "Rudo y Cursi," which he co-produced. Presently he resides in New Zealand, where he has signed on to direct "The Hobbit."
Yotzmit Rami, a spokeswoman for Universal Pictures, which has formed a trip of Guillermo del Toro, added that del Toro he would not be available to give his comment.
Del Toro is highly acclaimed for directing the "HellBoy" movies and also "Pan's Labyrinth." For Pan's Labyrinth Guillermo del Toro has grabbed an Oscar for best cinematography. |
